Contented Enterprises Limited was formed on 13 September 2007 in Wellington, New Zealand. Directors are Rachel McAlpine and Alice Hearnshaw.We provide affordable, up-to-date, reliable web-based training courses for people writing content for web sites and intranets. We already offer 8 courses and plan more for 2009.
The people behind Contented
Rachel McAlpine had the original bright idea, and is responsible for the course content. She is widely acknowledged as an authority on general business writing and especially writing for the web. Rachel is also an experienced lecturer and trainer, both face to face and online.
Rachel's academic qualifications are in languages, education, and literature. She first worked as a teacher, then as an author of novels, plays, and poetry. Rachel's first encounter with the Web was in 1995, while a guest professor in Kyoto, Japan. She immediately became fascinated by the requirements of online writing, wrote Web Word Wizardry, and began training people to write content. She has written more than 30 books, the most recent being Better Business Writing on the Web
Alice Hearnshaw brings expertise and plenty of experience in project management, systems, web technology, and usability. A graduate of the University of Canterbury, she has a law degree, languages, and literary skills. She manages our customers, does the accounts, identifies new courses and services, and works closely with our developers.
Revero, founded by Alice in 2001, provides web strategy, usability, information architecture and content services to corporates and government clients.
