Looking is not reading

In Defense of Readers by Mandy Brown includes this quote from Gerard Unger, While You’re Reading:

It is almost impossible to look and read at the same time: they are different actions. 


True. Obvious. But I never thought of it like that—did you?

Like just about every article on A List Apart, this one is thoughtful and stylish. I love to sneak a moment on that site every month or two. Mercifully, that's often enough to keep up.
