New Zealand's Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 kicks in next Wednesday. Senders of [tag]spam[/tag] may or may not be concerned. Business owners need to get their head around the definition of spam. They sure want to avoid sending spam by accident, but they want to preserve their customer communication databases.
The NZ Computer Society has Joe Stewart - Fighting Spam in Wellington today. And the Department of Internal Affairs' Anti-Spam Seminars are running nationwide in August-September. They have a terrific web site explaining it all with welcome clarity, complete with a PowerPoint slideshow.
